Trong một cuộc phỏng vấn truyền hình gần đây với CNBC, Ủy viên SEC Hester Peirce bày tỏ sự ngạc nhiên về sự chậm trễ trong việc phê duyệt Bitcoin ETF giao ngay, một sản phẩm mà bà tin rằng có ý nghĩa trong “5 năm qua”.

Peirce là người ủng hộ trung thành cho tiền điện tử trong quá khứ, thừa nhận rằng quan điểm của bà về Bitcoin ETF khác biệt đáng kể so với quan điểm của các thành viên khác của SEC.

Bà nói: “Tôi không thể đoán trước được cách tiếp cận của các đồng nghiệp đối với vấn đề này.”

Peirce bày tỏ lo ngại về một số hành động của SEC đối với tiền điện tử, cho thấy chúng có thể có tác động tiêu cực. 

Peirce nói: “Tôi luôn bối rối trước logic tại sao chúng tôi không chấp thuận các sản phẩm Bitcoin ETF.”

Peirce không xác nhận liệu ủy ban có sẵn sàng phê duyệt một sản phẩm ETF BTC hay không, bất chấp quan điểm của bà và số lượng đơn đăng ký ngày càng tăng sau vụ kiện Grayscale.

SEC được biết đến với những thất bại gần đây trước thị trường tiền điện tử. Gần đây, SEC đã tự nguyện hủy bỏ các vụ kiện chống lại các giám đốc điều hành của Ripple.
