Tên lửa được phóng trong dự án nhằm gửi 1 Bitcoin lên Mặt trăng đã thất bại do rò rỉ nhiên liệu. BTC bên trong có thể bị cháy.

Có vẻ như dự án gửi Bitcoin lên mặt trăng sẽ gây thất vọng lớn.

Sự hợp tác giữa sàn giao dịch tiền điện tử BitMEX và công ty công nghệ tư nhân Astrobotic, công ty hứa hẹn sẽ đưa Bitcoin “lên Mặt trăng” theo đúng nghĩa đen, đã gặp phải một vấn đề lớn sau sự cố với hệ thống đẩy của phương tiện.

Theo tuyên bố mới được Astrobotic đưa ra, tên lửa đã phóng không thể tới được Mặt trăng và bắt đầu quay trở lại Trái đất. Theo tuyên bố chính thức, tên lửa và 1 BTC bên trong sẽ bốc cháy trong bầu khí quyển Trái đất và biến mất.

BitMEX trước đó đã thông báo rằng họ đang hợp tác với Astrobotic để phóng BTC lên mặt trăng từ Florida. Tuy nhiên, theo BBC, Peregrine 1 đang “vật lộn với vấn đề rò rỉ nhiên liệu” và “việc hạ cánh trên bề mặt mặt trăng là không thể được nữa”.

Tuy nhiên, BitMEX đã tiếp cận tình huống này một cách hài hước trong tuyên bố của mình và chia sẻ những gì Satoshi Nakamoto đã nói về số BTC bị mất: “Mỗi đồng tiền bị mất sẽ khiến đồng tiền của người khác có giá trị hơn, ngay cả khi chúng nhỏ”.
