SEC hôm nay đã buộc tội BlackRock Advisors LLC vì đã không báo cáo chính xác các khoản đầu tư chiếm một phần đáng kể trong quỹ giao dịch đại chúng mà họ tư vấn. Đây là theo một tuyên bố của SEC phát hành ngày hôm nay. Đặc biệt, các khoản đầu tư đều nằm trong ngành giải trí.
Để giải quyết các cáo buộc, BlackRock đồng ý nộp phạt 2.5 triệu USD. Lệnh của SEC cho thấy rằng, từ năm 2015 đến năm 2019, Quỹ Tín thác Thu nhập Đa ngành (BIT) của BlackRock đã thực hiện các khoản đầu tư đáng kể, thông qua cơ sở cho vay, vào Aviron Group LLC.
Aviron là công ty phát triển các kế hoạch in ấn và quảng cáo cho một đến hai bộ phim mỗi năm.
Lệnh cho biết thêm rằng “trong nhiều báo cáo hàng năm và nửa năm của BIT được công khai cho các nhà đầu tư và nộp cho SEC, BlackRock đã mô tả không chính xác Aviron là một công ty” Dịch vụ Tài chính Đa dạng”.
Để đáp lại lệnh, BlackRock đã đồng ý với lệnh ngừng hoạt động và kiểm duyệt bên cạnh hình phạt bằng tiền. Tuy nhiên, công ty không thừa nhận hay phủ nhận phát hiện của SEC.
Andrew Dean, Đồng Giám đốc Đơn vị Quản lý Tài sản của Bộ phận Thực thi, cho biết: “Các nhà đầu tư tổ chức và bán lẻ dựa vào thông tin tiết lộ chính xác của các công ty tạo nên danh mục đầu tư của quỹ đóng hoặc quỹ tương hỗ để đánh giá khoản đầu tư hiện tại hoặc tiềm năng vào quỹ”. “Các cố vấn đầu tư có trách nhiệm cung cấp thông tin quan trọng này và BlackRock đã không làm được điều đó với khoản đầu tư vào Aviron.”
BlackRock và các đại diện của họ vẫn chưa bình luận công khai về những phát hiện mới nhất của SEC.
