Một báo cáo mới do Morgan Stanley công bố đã xem xét tác động của Bitcoin và tiền điện tử đối với sự thống trị của đồng đô la.
Theo một báo cáo gần đây của gã khổng lồ Phố Wall Morgan Stanley, vị thế của đồng đô la Mỹ với tư cách là nền tảng của hệ thống tài chính toàn cầu đang ngày càng bị giám sát chặt chẽ do xu hướng địa chính trị thay đổi và thâm hụt công ngày càng tăng của Mỹ.
Báo cáo nêu bật chính sách tiền tệ của Mỹ và việc áp dụng các biện pháp trừng phạt kinh tế đã buộc nhiều quốc gia phải tìm kiếm giải pháp thay thế cho đồng đô la như thế nào.
Ngân hàng lưu ý rằng mặc dù tiền điện tử chỉ mới xuất hiện gần đây nhưng chúng có tiềm năng làm suy yếu và củng cố sự thống trị của đồng đô la trong tài chính toàn cầu.
Andrew Peel, Giám đốc Thị trường Tài sản Kỹ thuật số tại Morgan Stanley, viết: “Sự gia tăng mối quan tâm gần đây đối với các tài sản kỹ thuật số như Bitcoin, sự tăng trưởng về khối lượng stablecoin và triển vọng về Tiền tệ kỹ thuật số của Cục Dự trữ Liên bang (CBDC) có thể thay đổi đáng kể bối cảnh tiền tệ”.
Peel lưu ý rằng “sự thay đổi rõ ràng theo hướng giảm sự phụ thuộc vào đồng đô la là điều hiển nhiên và cũng đang thúc đẩy sự quan tâm đến các loại tiền kỹ thuật số như Bitcoin, stablecoin và CBDC”.
Mặt khác, ông nhận thấy rằng các stablecoin được gắn với đồng đô la Mỹ cũng rất quan trọng vì chúng có thể làm nổi bật sự cần thiết của tiền tệ fiat.
