Tháng 9 đã trở thành tháng tồi tệ nhất trong năm 2023 (cho đến nay) khi số tiền điện tử bị hacker đánh cắp lên tới 329,8 triệu USD.
Theo công ty bảo mật blockchain CertiK, số tiền bị mất trong vụ tấn công Mixin Network vào hôm 23/9 chiếm phần lớn trong tổng số tiền trên, xấp xỉ 200 triệu USD.

Các sự kiện quan trọng khác trong tháng bao gồm các cuộc tấn công vào sàn giao dịch CoinEx và Stake.com, với mức thiệt hại lần lượt là 70 triệu USD và 41 triệu USD. Theo một số cuộc điều tra, nhóm hacker Bắc Triều Tiên Lazarus Group được cho là thủ phạm gây ra cả hai cuộc tấn công này. Theo nền tảng phân tích Dune Analytics, tổ chức hacker trên hiện nắm giữ 45,6 triệu USD tiền điện tử.
Cuộc tấn công đã khiến tổng số tiền điện tử bị mất do hacker hàng năm lên tới 925,4 triệu USD. Tháng 7 là tháng có tổn thất cao thứ hai, với 285.8 triệu USD bị đánh cắp.
Theo thông tin từ CertiK, tháng này cũng ghi nhận 1.9 triệu USD bị mất do exit scam, 400.000 USD bị mất trong do các cuộc tấn công flash loan và 25 triệu USD bị mất do các vụ lừa đảo.
Vậy chỉ trong 3 quý của năm 2023, tổng số tiền bị mất do các cuộc tấn công và lừa đảo đã lên đến 1.34 tỷ USD.
Ngoài ra, theo công ty bảo mật blockchain Beosin, tổng số tiền bị mất do các cuộc tấn công, lừa đảo thông qua email trong quý 3 vào khoảng 890 triệu USD. Con số này đã vượt xa tổng số tiền thiệt hại trong 2 quý đầu tiên, lần lượt là 330 triệu USD trong quý 1 và 333 triệu USD trong quý 2.
