Cựu quan chức của Ủy ban Chứng khoán và Giao dịch Hoa Kỳ (SEC), John Reed Stark, đã chỉ trích các quỹ Bitcoin Spot ETF trong một bài đăng dài trên X.
Stark hiện là chủ tịch của công ty an ninh mạng John Reed Stark Consulting. Ông đã thành lập và giữ chức vụ trưởng Văn phòng Thực thi Internet của SEC trong 11 năm. Ông cũng là luật sư thực thi của SEC trong 15 năm.
“Giữa một thị trường tiền điện tử toàn cầu tham nhũng và tội phạm khủng khiếp, SEC sẽ thông báo phê duyệt việc cung cấp một giao dịch bitcoin giao ngay ETF. Đúng là đồ khốn nạn,” cựu quan chức SEC nhận định.
Trước đó, ông đã nêu bật “tai họa của quỹ ETF bitcoin giao ngay”. Ông nhấn mạnh:
Những người đăng ký quỹ ETF Bitcoin giao ngay không gì khác hơn là một tập đoàn cơ hội gồm những tỷ phú tài chính khổng lồ hám phí, những người có đủ can đảm để thiết kế và sản xuất một sản phẩm nhằm cho phép nhiều nhà đầu tư hơn trải qua sự hủy hoại tài chính và rủi ro khôn lường – chỉ để họ một lần nữa có thể nhét tiền đầy túi của mình.
Ông còn cảnh báo thêm rằng tiền điện tử là “kế hoạch Ponzi khổng lồ”, lưu ý rằng tiền điện tử “đắt hơn, phức tạp hơn và rủi ro hơn so với tài chính chính thống”.
Cựu quan chức của SEC cũng đề cập đến vô số vụ phá sản tiền điện tử lớn trong vài năm qua cũng như việc đúc tiền Tether.
Ông ấy nói thêm:
Trong thế giới tiền điện tử, việc thao túng thị trường không chỉ tràn lan và được dung thứ mà còn được khuyến khích. Gian lận không chỉ được khen thưởng mà còn được dạy dỗ.
