Bức thư được gửi đến tin tặc, kêu gọi đối thoại và đàm phán, lưu ý rằng tài sản bị đánh cắp đại diện cho hàng triệu khách hàng tin tưởng vào sàn giao dịch tiền điện tử.

CoinEx cũng đưa ra “tiền thưởng” cho tin tặc nếu họ trả lại tài sản, đồng thời cam kết cải thiện cơ sở hạ tầng bảo mật của mình.
Trong khi đó, thám tử trực tuyến ZachXBT đã xác định nhóm tin tặc Lazarus của Triều Tiên là thực thể chịu trách nhiệm về vụ tấn công.
CoinEx không nêu rõ khi nào các dịch vụ sẽ hoạt động trở lại nhưng cho biết việc rút tiền sẽ mở lại theo từng giai đoạn sau khi kiểm tra bảo mật nghiêm ngặt.
