Chủ tịch SEC Gary Gensler đã không bỏ qua thị trường tiền điện tử trong các phát biểu của mình tại diễn đàn mà ông tham dự ngày hôm nay.

Trong bài phát biểu của mình tại Diễn đàn Thực thi Chứng khoán năm 2023, Chủ tịch Ủy ban Chứng khoán và Giao dịch (SEC) Gary Gensler đã nhắc lại quan điểm của mình rằng các công ty tiền điện tử phải tuân theo các quy định giống như các tổ chức tài chính truyền thống.

Gensler bày tỏ rằng ông không ngạc nhiên khi ngành crypto phản đối quan điểm này.

Ông cũng lưu ý rằng Quốc hội có thể đã hạn chế việc thực thi luật chứng khoán đối với cổ phiếu và trái phiếu khi chúng được ban hành vào năm 1933 và 1934, nhưng họ đã không làm như vậy.

Thay vào đó, theo Gensler, Quốc hội đã chọn đưa vào một loạt định nghĩa về chứng khoán, bao gồm cả ‘hợp đồng đầu tư’.

Gensler mô tả các vấn đề đe dọa ngành công nghiệp tiền điện tử là “không có gì đáng ngạc nhiên” và chỉ ra các vấn đề như “lừa đảo, giả mạo, phá sản và rửa tiền”.
