Thành viên BRICS, Trung Quốc đang tích cực thúc đẩy đồng nội tệ của mình, Nhân dân tệ, để cạnh tranh với đồng đô la Mỹ, Euro, Bảng Anh và các loại tiền tệ địa phương khác.
Lần đầu tiên, đồng Nhân dân tệ của Trung Quốc đã vượt qua đồng Euro để trở thành đồng tiền chính thứ hai trong các giao dịch SWIFT. Việc sử dụng đồng Euro trong thanh toán SWIFT quốc tế đang ở mức thấp nhất trong 3 năm trong khi đồng Nhân dân tệ của Trung Quốc đang ở mức cao nhất trong 5 tháng.
Dữ liệu từ SWIFT cho thấy các giao dịch xuyên biên giới bằng đồng Euro đã giảm từ 32,64% xuống 31,74%, mức giảm gần 0,9%. Mặt khác, đồng Nhân dân tệ của Trung Quốc đã thu hẹp khoảng cách đạt mức cao 3,71% vào tháng 9 tháng trước. Thanh toán SWIFT bằng Nhân dân tệ Trung Quốc đã tăng 2,77% so với tháng trước vào tháng 8 năm 2023.
BRICS: Nhân dân tệ Trung Quốc cạnh tranh với đồng đô la Mỹ và đồng Euro
Mặc dù con số có vẻ hạn chế nhưng diễn biến này cho thấy sự thay đổi mô hình có lợi cho Trung Quốc trên thị trường tiền tệ. Đây là lần đầu tiên đồng Nhân dân tệ Trung Quốc vượt mốc 3% trong 20 tháng qua. Đồng Nhân dân tệ của Trung Quốc chỉ đứng thứ hai sau đồng đô la Mỹ, tăng từ 41,74% lên 42,71% trong cùng thời kỳ.
Nền kinh tế toàn cầu đang trải qua sự thay đổi dần dần sau khi BRICS khởi động sáng kiến phi đô la hóa vào đầu năm nay. Trung Quốc đang dẫn dắt BRICS chấm dứt sự phụ thuộc vào đồng đô la Mỹ và cũng có thể cạnh tranh với đồng Euro, Bảng Anh và Yên.
Mặc dù BRICS thành công trong thời gian ngắn nhưng mối đe dọa có thể trở nên lớn hơn trong những năm tới và thách thức quyền bá chủ của phương Tây.
BRICS đang tìm cách chấm dứt sử dụng đồng đô la Mỹ cho các giao dịch toàn cầu trong ba năm tới vào năm 2026.
Tóm lại, mặc dù đây có vẻ là một chiến thắng mong manh đối với Nhân dân tệ Trung Quốc, nhưng mối đe dọa lâu dài đối với đồng đô la Mỹ và đồng Euro đang hiện ra.
