Thành viên BRICS, Trung Quốc đang thuyết phục các quốc gia châu Phi từ bỏ đồng đô la Mỹ và giao dịch bằng đồng Nhân dân tệ cho các giao dịch xuyên biên giới. Văn phòng Ngân hàng Trung Quốc tại Zambia đang nỗ lực tăng cường giao dịch bằng đồng Nhân dân tệ ở Nam Phi. Zambia là nước sản xuất đồng lớn thứ hai ở châu Phi và Trung Quốc là nước tiêu thụ đồng lớn nhất thế giới.

Do đó, thành viên BRICS là Trung Quốc đang tìm cách tận dụng hoạt động buôn bán đồng quốc tế bằng cách khiến Zambia chấp nhận đồng Nhân dân tệ của Trung Quốc và bỏ đồng đô la Mỹ.

Zambia xuất khẩu cả đồng thô và đồng tinh luyện sang Trung Quốc và thương mại xuyên biên giới trị giá 2 tỷ USD mỗi năm. Quốc gia châu Phi này xuất khẩu đồng thô trị giá 1,64 tỷ USD và cũng xuất khẩu đồng tinh luyện trị giá 340 triệu USD sang Trung Quốc. Nhìn chung, đồng chiếm 70% thu nhập từ xuất khẩu nước ngoài của Zambia và đóng vai trò quan trọng trong tăng trưởng GDP.

Quốc gia BRICS Trung Quốc đang thúc đẩy câu chuyện phi đô la hóa bằng cách thúc giục Zambia chấp nhận đồng Nhân dân tệ Trung Quốc làm phương tiện thanh toán cho đồng chứ không phải đô la Mỹ.

Quốc gia BRICS chiếm thế thượng phong trong việc thuyết phục Zambia khi nước này kiểm soát lợi ích chuỗi cung ứng ở Châu Phi. Nếu Zambia chấp nhận thỏa thuận của Trung Quốc, thì lần đầu tiên, giao dịch đồng trị giá 2 tỷ USD sẽ được thanh toán bằng đồng Nhân dân tệ chứ không phải bằng đô la Mỹ.

BRICS: Nhân dân tệ Trung Quốc đe dọa đồng đô la Mỹ trên thị trường quốc tế

Trung Quốc vẫn là nước đi đầu trong khối BRICS để tích cực thúc đẩy sáng kiến phi đô la hóa. BRICS đặt mục tiêu lật đổ đồng đô la Mỹ với tư cách là tiền tệ dự trữ toàn cầu và thay thế nó bằng tiền địa phương. Động thái này sẽ củng cố nền kinh tế bản địa của họ và thúc đẩy triển vọng của đồng nội tệ.

Tuy nhiên, đồng đô la Mỹ sẽ bị ảnh hưởng nặng nề nhất nếu kịch bản như vậy diễn ra trong thời gian tới.
